1-Ingredient Homemade Toilet Bowl Cleaner (Nighttime Use)
As an expert on environmental toxins, I’ve long been an advocate of creating your own products, whether it’s a stain remover, laundry detergent, or toilet bowl cleaner. Yes, a toilet bowl cleaner!
Ingredients :
- 16 oz. White vinegar
Method:
- Pour about half a 32 oz bottle of white vinegar down the toilet bowl before bed.
- Leave on overnight, then rub in in the morning.

Ingredients :
- 2 cups of white vinegar
- 1 cup bicarbonate of soda
Method:
- Pour 2 cups of white distilled vinegar into the toilet bowl, then about 1 cup of baking soda. This will create a fizz. (Never combine these two ingredients ahead of time, as it will create a huge mess! Store them separately. For convenience, I like to keep a large 64 oz bottle of vinegar and a box of baking soda under each bathroom sink.) .
- Rub in and let sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing. If necessary, you can repeat the operation.
How to customize your cleaner:
You can also add some essential oils for extra fragrance and cleanliness (optional). Try lemon essential oil for freshening up or tea tree essential oil for more effective cleansing.
